
Qiaoyi (Joy) is a Ph.D. student at the iSchool. She graduated with a B.S. in biological sciences and a M.S. in Library & Information Science. She also obtained a Certificate of Advanced Study in Data Science from SU.
Her research interests are in knowledge organization and science of science. She studies biological knowledge representation and construction of ontologies guided by classification theories and semantic measurements. Joy is interested in knowledge bases exploited by machine-learning models and trustworthy LLMs to generate knowledge for bioinformatics and computational biology research. She uses social network analysis to study the collaboration of biomedical scholars in publication and data submission networks. You can also visit Joy’s personal web page.
