The iSchool is proud to have a group of committed students that are here to help guide you with your college decision. Our students are on or around campus, have extensive experience within the School of Information Studies as well as other programs external to the college. They are here to help answer your questions from where you should get food on campus to advice on your application. Ask them about their experience in our diverse learning environment, and how Syracuse has helped them to shape their current aspirations.

Vishnu Charugundla

Hi, I’m Vishnu Charugundla. I’m a graduate student in the Applied Data Science program at the iSchool, Syracuse University. I’m also an active member of the iSchool Nexis club where I work with other data enthusiasts on Data Science projects. The school’s career services office has also been a valuable resource, with lots of guidance for resume review, career counseling, and interview tips. Thanks to the assistance of the iSchool career services office, I secured an internship as a Data Scientist at Sam’s Club Walmart Inc. I hope to continue to be a part of the iSchool and build upon my experience here.

I’m a Master’s student in Applied Data Science at Syracuse University. I’m passionate about using AI and data analysis to solve problems. I work on exciting projects at the NEXIS Student Technology Lab, and I help teach other students as a Teaching Assistant at the iSchool. I’m also involved in leadership roles on campus, serving on the University Conduct Board and in WiTec. I’m committed to using data to make a positive impact and inspiring others to explore the possibilities of technology.

Amaan Ali Khan Barkath

I’m Amaan Ali Khan, a graduate student pursuing Masters in Applied Data Science at Syracuse University. I hold a B.Tech in Computer Science from SRM Institute of Science and Technology in India. My experience spans internships in data science, AI research, and graphic design, with projects such as an AI-based tuberculosis detection system and a dermatological disease classification tool. I’ve also served as Head of Creatives Domain at the Institution of Engineers (India), organising hackathons and webinars. I’m excited to share my journey and help prospective students learn more about the iSchool!

Smrithii Radhakrishnan

I am Smrithii Radhakrishnan, and I’m a master’s student in Information Systems here at Syracuse University. I am focused on building a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making and technology innovation. At the iSchool, I have participated in the CITRA research study, where I explored controlling robots in workplace tasks, and have actively engaged in professional development opportunities, including career services workshops and the iSchool career fair. These experiences have sharpened my resume, improved my interview skills, and has helped me build valuable professional connections. Needless to say, the support of the iSchool’s strong alumni network has been instrumental in understanding the industry expectations and preparing for the job market. In terms of coursework, I’ve taken pivotal courses such as Introduction to Data Science and Dynamics of Human-AI Interaction which have equipped me with in-demand skills and insights into the evolving tech landscape. The mentorship and guidance from my professors have been invaluable for all the courses I’ve taken so far and I am excited to share my experiences to inspire prospective students to explore the transformative opportunities at the iSchool.

Hi, I’m Soundarya Ravi from Chennai! I’m an avid cook who loves experimenting in the kitchen and a bookworm who enjoys diving into both fiction and non-fiction—especially anything with a supernatural twist. I’m a tech enthusiast who finds joy in working with data (not people’s minds, just data, I promise).

I’m fascinated by astronomy and could talk about stars, galaxies, and the universe for hours. Walking under the moon is my kind of therapy—definitely beats being out in the sun. I love deep, meaningful conversations that make me think about life, the universe, and everything in between.

That’s me in a nutshell—part dreamer, part nerd, and always curious.

After attaining a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from India and gaining 3.5 years of work experience, I decided to pursue the Applied Data Science program at Syracuse University’s iSchool. The program’s comprehensive curriculum and the university’s strong alumni network attracted me to this opportunity. My involvement as a Graduate Ambassador and participating in various on-campus events and organizations has enriched my university experience, allowing me to network extensively and develop crucial time management skills. The support from seniors and the welcoming community has been invaluable in helping me transition smoothly.
