Finding a job after college doesn’t have to be stressful. We’re here to help you every step of the way. Get started on the basics, like your resume and LinkedIn profile. At our weekly workshops, you can meet iSchool alumni, get one-on-one resume feedback, or do a mock interview. There’s always an opportunity to sharpen your skills at the iSchool.
Handshake
Handshake is the hub for all of your career-related needs. Creating your Handshake account should be one of your top priorities. Remember to check the portal often for new career opportunities, and keep your profile up-to-date to stand out to recruiters.
With Handshake, you can:
- Book appointments with Career Services staff
- Look for jobs and internships (including on-campus jobs)
- Register for recruiting events and workshops
- Research employers
Internship Credit
Internships are a great way to apply classroom theory while meeting your career and academic goals. You may register for internship credit after completing half of your academic program. This will help you grow as a professional and get the most out of your internship experience.
All iSchool students can register for internship credit. Some programs require an internship; consult your program handbook to know if this applies to you. Your internship needs to meet certain criteria and you must track your progress throughout the experience.

Interview preparation
Schedule a mock interview with a career counselor through Handshake or practice on your own using Big Interview. Big Interview allows you to record practice interviews on your laptop or mobile device. Use a pre-recorded interview scenario or develop your own using a library of over 7,000 interview questions.
