The iSchool is proud to have a group of committed students that are here to help guide you with your college decision. Our students are on or around campus, have extensive experience within the School of Information Studies as well as other programs external to the college. They are here to help answer your questions from where you should get food on campus to advice on your application. Ask them about their experience in our diverse learning environment, and how Syracuse has helped them to shape their current aspirations.

Alexandra Miller-Thomas ’26

Alexandra is a junior pursuing an iSchool major in Applied Data Analytics with concentrations in Project Management & Web Development, and two minors in Marketing and Art History. She is from the Metro Detroit area of Michigan and is a competitor on the Syracuse Synchronized Figure Skating Team. Outside of sports and academics, Alexandra is in the Renee Crown Honors Program and works in the iSchool as a peer advisor and a part of the iSchool marketing team. She is also a member of the Syracuse University Student Marketing Committee, the Hellenic Student Association, and Kappa Theta Pi (the professional technology fraternity).

Lissette Mitzi Mendez ’26

Lissette Mitzi Mendez is a current junior who is majoring in Information Management and Technology, with a concentration in Project Management, while also minoring in Finance at the Whitman School of Management. She is originally from New Jersey. Lissette is a part of the Renée Crown University Honors Program and the iSchools professional fraternity, Kappa Theta Pi. She is also a part of the iSchool’s marketing team and helps create content for the iSchool social media accounts! Lissette had the opportunity to be a part of the iSchool’s immersive trip, Spring Break in Silicon Valley during the Spring of 2023, where she gained an interest in the connection of business and technology. Over the summer of 2024, she interned at PSEG in New Jersey and gained experience in business analytics and data visualization. After graduation, Lissette is looking for a job in the FinTech industry!

Nayeli Perez

Nayeli Perez is a junior at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies, pursuing a degree in Information Management and Technology with a concentration in Project Management and a minor in Sport Event Management. She is passionate about exploring how technology, communication, and organizational strategy come together to improve systems and create meaningful user experiences. Nayeli has gained hands-on experience supporting administrative operations and managing information in both professional and campus settings, including her role as an Information Desk Attendant at Syracuse University, where she enjoys helping students and visitors navigate campus resources. She is actively involved in student leadership as the Community Service Chair for the South American & Latine Student Association (SALSA), leading outreach efforts and service initiatives that strengthen community connections. Nayeli also serves as Secretary for the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, where she supports organizational coordination and advocates for diverse voices in media.
