Career Treks

Career Treks offer students an inside look at how technology shapes and drives a variety of industries. Through visits to leading companies in cities such as New York, Boston, Rochester, Buffalo, and Washington, D.C., students connect their classroom learning with real-world applications and career opportunities.

Road Trips provide an introduction to how technology intersects with a particular business industry. Students travel by coach bus to nearby cities like New York City, Boston, Rochester, Buffalo, and Washington, D.C., and visit a range of companies to bridge their learning from the classroom to the real world.

Road Trips are open to all undergraduate iSchool majors.

The cost per trip varies from based on the city. Price includes all transportation both into and around the city, overnight accommodations (if applicable), visits, and events.

There are 15-25 spots available on each Career Trek, and attendees are selected through an application process that is shared with students via email. Payment is due upon registration and will reserve your spot on the Career Trek.

Each Road Trip includes:

  • Visits to 4-8 companies
  • Time to explore the city on your own
  • A meet-up and event with alumni
  • Cultural or team-building activity
